We have fun doing our monthly Pop Up Surveys, which always reveal some interesting tidbits on trends and other findings on a variety of topics from the HOAs in our network. The latest survey was on storm damage and the results are below in the charts, with 101 HOAs reporting.
As a refresher, we start accumulating the data from HOAs the month before our chapter meetings with a particular theme, and then reveal the answers during the actual chapter meetings in the next month. Once we get through them all chapters for the month (Maple Grove was today), we publish the final results externally.
Turns out in our latest survey, a slight majority saw storm related damage in the past three years. Of those HOAs, most reported that trees and roofs/shingles were damaged. Wind and hail were the primary drivers of the sustained damage, and operating funds paid for most of the repair (which makes sense, given that trees were a number one answer on damage, as they are not covered by insurance).
Check out the charts below.
A new survey on Property Management is now available, as we will be addressing that issue in May. You’re invited to take our latest Pop Up Survey #6.
