Each month this year, we’ve been doing a Pop Up Survey of our members to determine trends and other issues that are going on in HOA land. In May we had a presentation from our sponsor, Shaun Zavadsky of FirstService Residential, and we decided to run a survey about property management. We always reveal the answers to the survey at our chapter meetings first, and then publish them here once we’re through all the meetings. With Maple Grove now behind us (the last of May), we have the results below.  Enjoy!

Question 1:  Of 141 HOAs responding, more than 87% reported a property manager under contract. 

Question 2:  Of those HOAs with a property manager, some 26% reported a relationship with their property manager that has lasted 10 or more years.

Question 3: When asked what services HOAs appreciate the most from their property manager, many of the more popular choices were financially related. The top choice: Billing and Receivables. 

Question 4: When asked what services they’d like their Property Manager to do, the results included “updating bylaws and rules,” “legal advice” and “access to handyman” personnel.
